Texas Longhorn Calves - Superstition Wilderness - Arizona

Texas Longhorn Calves - Superstition Mountains

We spotted these two Texas Longhorn Calves during an early morning drive along Peralta Road south of the Superstition Mountains. Longhorn calves are typically born with a reddish-brown coat which eventually fades to a lighter color as they grow older.

This photograph shows their red and white coats in full glory in the morning light with the Superstition Mountains in the background.

Texas Longhorn calves are a unique cattle breed originating in the southern United States. They are known for their distinctive long, curved horns reaching up to six feet long. They are hardy and adaptable animals that can thrive in a variety of environments, making them a popular choice for ranchers and breeders.
