Lower Calf Creek Falls is a 126-foot waterfall within the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. The falls can be reached by following a trail along Calf Creek upstream for 3 miles. We left the trailhead before sunrise so we could hike in the cool early morning air. At the end of the trail is a box canyon and paradise since Calf Creek cascades into a pool. It is so beautiful and peaceful there.
Arriving at the foot of the falls shortly after sunrise allowed me to capture the waterfall in full sunlight, and we had the pleasure of having this paradise all to ourselves.
