When we visit the Grand Canyon and walk along the trails and visit the many outlooks, I hear a familiar comment, "Where is the river"? This is a valid question, as the river is not visible at most overlooks, and the major tour companies do not travel to the spots where you can see the Colorado River.
Our latest visit to the Grand Canyon was during the Christmas holidays, it had snowed the night before, so the weather was clear and cold, perfect for photographing the canyon. We took the advantage of the weather to get this great photograph of the S curve in the Colorado River from Lipan Point. From this vantage point you can see the river surrounded by the colors of the canyon. In order to get true feeling of the view, we offer this photograph in panoramic format.
