Yavapai Vista Trail with Snow — Sedona, Arizona

3 minute read

Discover the enchanting beauty of Sedona’s red rocks dusted with snow from the Yavapai Vista Trail

Sedona, Arizona, is renowned worldwide for its stunning red rock formations, drawing both locals and tourists in droves, especially during the summer months. The warm season invites visitors to explore scenic hiking trails and cool off in the refreshing waters of Oak Creek. However, the popularity of summer brings with it crowds, as the town and surrounding areas bustle with activity.

Winter in Sedona offers a stark contrast. The once-busy trails become peaceful and serene, and the town itself takes a well-deserved break from the influx of visitors. Occasionally, a dusting of snow graces the tops of the iconic red rocks, adding a delicate touch of white to the vivid landscape. Every so often, a colder storm sweeps through, lowering snow levels and transforming the area into a breathtaking winter wonderland.

These rare snowy moments reveal a side of Sedona that feels almost magical, making it an ideal time for us to visit and experience its unique, tranquil beauty.

One of the best trails in Sedona is the Yavapai Trail. The Yavapai Vista Trail is one of the most used trails in Sedona. The trail leads to a flat rock shelf that provides an outstanding view of Lee Mountain, Courthouse Butte, and Gibraltar Peak. Following a snowstorm in Sedona, we headed up the trail to capture the view with snow.
