Old Is Beautiful - Cuervo Ghost Town, New Mexico
There is always something special when we encounter an old car in the desert. This is the case of this car we found at Cuervo Ghost Town, New Mexico. I love the color of the paint fading in the years of sun exposure.
While traveling east on I-40 through New Mexico, we noticed this ghost town just off the freeway, and it enticed us enough to turn around to explore. Cuervo, New Mexico is one of many small towns of the Rt66 days that was bypassed by 1-40 in the early 1960s. The town never had a large population, and the bypass doomed the town to be added to the long list of Rt66 Ghost Towns.
