Log Cabin at Kristoferson Farm at Camano Island, WA
While exploring the Camano Island, we discovered Kristoferson Farm. While at the farm, we found this fantastic log cabin. We were honored by the owner to allow us to photograph the cabin and provide this history.
The log cabin was built in the 1880s is the oldest surviving structure on Camano Island. Constructed of local western red cedar logs, the source of the booming timber industry at the time. The cabin’s roof is made of hand-split cedar shakes; it has been replaced only once after 100 years. The stone fireplace made of rounded stones characteristic of the island’s glacial moraine has provided warmth for the room over the years.
