Common Monkeyflower, Arizona
The yellow Monkeyflower has many names, Golden Monkeyflower, Seep Monkeyflower, Common Monkeyflower (erythranthe guttati formerly mimulus guttatus). Monkeyflowers like shade and moist soil, so it seems out of place in the deserts around Phoenix.
We were able to find some along the Cottonwood creek in the Four Peaks Wilderness area, just northeast of Phoenix.
